RETURN COVID19 INFORMATION CENTER

ENTRY UPDATE – REQUIRED PCR NEGATIVE TEST

As of Thursday, July 30th, 2020, all persons wishing to enter the Dominican Republic must bring a PCR test, taken at least five (5) days prior to their arrival in Dominican territory.

In case of not having the PCR test, a medical and health staff will be doing the test at the airport in an area designated for such purposes. As is done in other countries, all persons arriving in our territory will be evaluated for their health condition and, if they test positive or show symptoms associated with Covid-19, they will be isolated in centres authorized for this purpose.

2:28 pm, June 30 2020.

As of 1 July 2020, the border is open for commercial and private airlines flying to the Dominican Republic.

At this time there is no published requirement of travellers to the Dominican Republic presenting a COVID19 negative test.

It is mandatory to wear surgical masks or the like (covering the mouth, nose and chin) inside the terminal at all times.  Additionally at all times when traveling on interCaribbean Airways aircraft.

For most travellers, no quarantine will be required upon arrival; travellers who show symptoms of COVID-19 will be transferred to an area away from other passengers for further evaluation.

Travellers will be required to wear a face mask in any situation where it is necessary to enforce physical distancing guidelines, such as when entering and transiting air and sea terminals, while navigating security and customs screenings, at baggage claim and in public spaces.
