interCaribbean Airways Dedicates “Spirit of St. Vincent and The Grenadines” Aircraft at Argyle International Airport

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos – July 23rd, 2026 – interCaribbean Airways today unveiled its custom-painted ATR42 aircraft (registration VQ-TVC) at Argyle International Airport, bearing the name “Spirit of St. Vincent and The Grenadines” on its nose and the national flag on its tail. The aircraft touched down to a water cannon salute, with CEO Trevor Sadler, Vincentian Engineering Manager Alston Samuel, and Vincentian cabin crew member Ms. Athalia Gloster deplaning to a receiving line of government officials, tourism stakeholders, and media.

The dedication ceremony was attended by the Honourable Dr. Godwin Friday, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and The Grenadines, the Honourable Dr. Kishore Shallow, Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, and Sustainable Development, other dignitaries, and representatives of the St. Vincent and The Grenadines Tourism Authority. The event featured traditional Vincentian cultural performers, a ribbon cutting, and a formal dedication programme.

interCaribbean has connected St. Vincent and The Grenadines to the wider Caribbean since 2020, when the airline began service during a period when borders across the region were closing and airlines were grounding fleets. Six years on, Vincentians serve across the company – in its cabins, at its counters, in engineering, and in its offices.

“This aircraft will fly not just to St. Vincent but across our entire Caribbean network, and everywhere it lands, it asks one question – have you been to St. Vincent and The Grenadines? That’s the job. We connect the islands – we don’t just move customers. We move curiosity. We give people a reason to go somewhere they haven’t been,” said Trevor Sadler, CEO, interCaribbean Airways

Spirit of St. Vincent and The Grenadines” joins a growing family of flag-tail aircraft in the interCaribbean fleet. The airline has previously dedicated the “Spirit of Grenada,” “Spirit of St. Kitts and Nevis,” “Spirit of Guyana,” “Spirit of Barbados,” and “Spirit of Turks and Caicos” – each bearing the national flag or coat of arms of those nations with each serving as a flying ambassador across the Caribbean.
