Assistance Needs: Air Travel for Differently Abled

Expectant Mother

  • Expectant Mothers who are between their sixth (06) to eighth (08) months of pregnancy shall be required to have a medical certificate from their personal physician.
  • Expectant Mothers beyond their eighth (08) month of pregnancy, and who requires air transportation for special reasons, may be accepted for carriage only upon clearance from their personal physician. A medical certificate should be presented to the ticketing agent upon purchase of the ticket and to the check-in counter on the day of the flight.
  • The validity of the medical certificate is 7 days from the date of issuance unless specified in the certificate that the passenger is released to travel on a specific date.
  • Expectant Mother must have completed their travel within the validity period of the certificate otherwise, a new medical certificate may be required.

Customers with Visual or Hearing impairment

We recognize all customers with differing abilities, and wish to ensure that each customer receives the care and attention they need from us. when making a reservation for a customer who is blind, or requires the assistance of a service animal, or is deaf and travelling alone, so we can make sure we take care to assist them through the airport and on-board journey with us. Please make sure at the time of making a reservation that we are advised of these customer needs. If you made a reservation online, please call us to advise so we may add special assistance notes to the reservation. With this we can be prepared at the airport to begin assistance.




Wheel Chair assistance

Please let us know in advance, preferably at the time of making your reservation if you need a wheelchair. We will do our best to ensure that this is available timely at the airport when you arrive.



Travelling with your own wheelchair?

  • We can usually arrange to carry your wheelchair or mobility aid on your flight.
  • Please tell us your wheelchair’s measurements and weight at the time of booking.
  • One mobility aid e.g. a wheelchair will be carried free of charge in addition to the applicable checked baggage allowance.
  • If you have a battery-powered wheelchair, you need to take certain safeguards before you travel. Please ask for details when you contact us.
  • We will try our best to ensure that, if you wish, you can stay in your own wheelchair until you arrive at the boarding gate. However, all airports are different and sometimes it is not practical to do so.
  • At some airports we may have to check wheelchairs or mobility aids into the aircraft hold and give them back to you in the arrivals baggage hall of your destination airport. If we do this we will transport you from check in to the aircraft in another wheelchair and, on arrival, from the aircraft to the baggage claim area.
