Airspace covering Puerto Rico has been temporarily restricted

Travel Update – January 5th, 2026

Following the reopening of Puerto Rico’s airspace yesterday, interCaribbean confirms that the following flights will operate as scheduled today, January 5, 2026, from/to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) in San Juan:

Travel Advisory – January 3rd, 2026

In accordance with a security order issued by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), airspace covering Puerto Rico has been temporarily restricted due to air safety considerations related to military activity in Venezuela.

What this means:

  • All interCaribbean Airways flights to and through San Juan (SJU) are temporarily suspended.
  • This measure has an initial duration of approximately 24 hours, subject to review and possible extension by United States authorities
  • We expect to resume full operations on Sunday, January 4, or as soon as restrictions are lifted
