San Juan (SJU) Airport Delays: Travel Advisory for Connecting Flights

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands, March 26, 2026 – interCaribbean Airways advises customers of ongoing travel disruptions affecting travel in USA and Territories Airports.  interCaribbean recognizes this issue may affect customers with a connection through San Juan (SJU) airport.

Due to reduced U.S. security staffing, security wait times have increased significantly. Some customers have missed onward flights as a result.

For interCaribbean – who may be Affected

This advisory applies to customers traveling:

    • From Tortola (EIS) or St Kitts, through San Juan (SJU) with onward connections to the United States, or
    • From the United States via San Juan (SJU) to Tortola (EIS)
    • From the United States via San Juan (SJU) to St Kitts (SKB)

What You Should Do

Customers are strongly advised to allow extra time for airport processing at San Juan (SJU). Increased wait times may affect your connection, so arriving several hours before departure is recommended.

Rebooking Options for San Juan Delays

To reduce the risk of missed connections, we are offering affected customers the option to move to an earlier or later flight at no additional charge, regardless of your original fare class.

How to Change Your Flight

We understand how disruptive this is. While the staffing situation is outside our control, our team is actively helping customers adjust their flights to reach their destination.
