HURRICANE MELISSA
Tropical Storm Melissa has now intensified into a hurricane, with sustained winds reaching 90 mph and further strengthening expected over the next 12 hours. A hurricane watch has been extended to Eastern Cuba, including Santiago de Cuba, with the system forecast to pass through the area on the evening of Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Winds are expected to ease slightly before the hurricane moves past the Turks and Caicos Islands on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston has announced a full operational closure effective tonight at 9:00 PM local time. All operations in Kingston, Jamaica will remain suspended until Monday, October 27, 2025.

Tropical Storm Melissa is currently moving west – northwest and is located approximately 300 miles southeast of Jamaica. The storm is currently producing winds up to 50 mph.
ALL scheduled flights are operating as normal. No disruptions anticipated at this time. Heavy rains are expected over portions of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
