Air Services to South Caicos Dec 26 2016

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Air Services to South Caicos, interCaribbean Airways advises of the disruption of flights to and from South Caicos.

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands.  December 26, 2016  interCaribbean Airways wishes to advise the public and especially travelers to and from South Caicos of no air service today December 26th and Tuesday December 27th 2016.

The Airport Authority of the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCIAA) has issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airman) that no fire service coverage exists.  Without the required availability of Fire Trucks at the airport, all commercial flights are not allowed to land at the airport.

interCaribbean is monitoring the situation and will update this site as soon as new information is available to advise travelers of resumption of flights in and out.  Based on present information it would seem unlikely this will resume before December 28, 2016.

interCaribbean is committed to resuming flights as soon as we receive updates from the airport clearing flights to land.
