interCaribbean Coordinates UK Department for Transport (DfT) Aviation Security Training

Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands; Monday, September 15, 2014 – In complying with enhance security regulations imposed on Aviation in the Overseas Territories via the OTARs regulations, InterCaribbean Airways has been instrumental in coordinating and hosting the required Aviation Security Managers Course and Train the Trainer course which are mandated by the U K Department for Transport, the first of its kind conducted in the TCI.

The courses taught by Mr. John Pears, former Regional Aviation Security Advisor for the British Overseas Territories has been invited by InterCaribbean Airways to conduct the two weeks of training, which will be held at Fortis TCI Conference Room from September 22 to October 3.

The airport Authority has been supportive in securing the training facility with the cooperarion of Fortis TCI.
September 22 – 26 is dedicated to a course for Aviation Security Managers and targets the issues raised by the current security climate and heightened threat levels, taking into account the motives and tactics which have been used recently and those which are possible for future attacks on aviation. The second training course for “Train the Trainer” for instructors will be held from September 29 – October 3.

interCaribbean Airways welcomes participants from Anguilla, The British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Cayman Islands and from the Turks & Caicos InterCaribbean Airways and the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority.

Once again InterCaribbean Airways demonstrates that it is dedicated to providing first class security for its flying guests, by taking the lead to ensure that their security personnel receive the necessary training in protecting the airline.
